What's the difference between mean, median, and mode?
The mean is the sum of all numbers divided by how many there are. The median is the middle value when the numbers are sorted (or the average of the two middle values, for an even count). The mode is the value that appears most often.
Why would I use median instead of mean?
The mean is skewed by extreme outliers, while the median isn't. For data like household income or home prices, where a few very high values can pull the mean up, the median often better represents a 'typical' value.
What if my list has no repeated numbers?
If every number appears exactly once, there is no mode, and the calculator will show 'None' for that field.
