PDF to Word Converter
Extract the text from any PDF into an editable Word (.docx) document, processed entirely in your browser.
This extracts the selectable text from your PDF into a plain Word document — original layout, images, and fonts aren't preserved. Scanned PDFs with no selectable text (image-only) can't be converted this way.
How the PDF to Word Converter works
Upload a PDF and your browser reads through every page, pulling out the selectable text using the same open-source engine (PDF.js) that powers PDF viewing in Chrome and Firefox.
That extracted text is then assembled into a real .docx Word document, one section per page, which you can download and edit like any other Word file.
Frequently asked questions
Will the converted document keep the original formatting?
No — this tool extracts the selectable text from your PDF into a plain Word document. Original layout, fonts, images, tables, and columns are not preserved, since that requires much more complex document reconstruction.
Can it convert scanned PDFs or photos of documents?
Not directly. If a PDF has no selectable text (it's just a scanned image), there's no text for this tool to extract. Scanned documents need OCR (optical character recognition) first, which is a different, more specialized process.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No — the PDF is read and its text extracted entirely in your browser, and the Word document is generated locally too. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
